Future Leaders

Effective Leadership Drives Business Growth

From 1st time managers to senior leaders, we will explore key business issues with you and unlock your true potential as a leader and manager. The programme is 3-months in duration, delivered via face-to-face and online learning.

Three Key Themes

1. Responsible Leadership

Ensuring leaders have the right knowledge, tools, mind-set and confidence to make decisions that reflect the interests of all stakeholders

2. Connected Thinking

Overcome key challenges through peer-to-peer learning and support. In small groups, delegates adopt a structured framework to solve real business problems and develop action plans for change. Helping leaders see their organisation as having its own eco system helps them to apply systematic thinking to any given situation.

3. Complexity and Ambiguity

Looking beyond traditional ways of thinking by providing leaders with the ability to assess complex situations, increase confidence as a decision maker and decrease the levels of uncertainty around choices leaders make.

What You Will Learn?

Recognising the need to ensure a ready supply of quality leaders in the Humber region, the programme will accelerate the development of talented managers, ensuring their readiness to lead their organisations in an increasingly challenging and complex environment. Rather than business leaders constantly trying, often belatedly, to catch up with key business trends such as mass automation, the global COVID-19 pandemic offers an opportunity to reset the way organisations operate. The recent World Economic Forum white paper “Resetting the future of work agenda ” offers a tantalising opportunity for leaders to realise a “transition to a fairer, more sustainable post-COVID world, (where) companies have a responsibility, and a rare opportunity, to rethink their organizational and workplace structures to invest in their workforces as core drivers of long-term resilience and future success.” Our learning modules take participants on a deep-dive into what it takes to be a real leader.

Session 2: Who are you?

The second session build on the first by exploring in more detail ways in which we can make incremental gains and efficiencies to lead with more awareness, lead smarter, and lead with our heart and mind. We shall explore key theme of habit formation, emotional intelligence and time management.

Session 3: Sense Making in an imperfect world

In an increasingly complex world, decision making is a critical skill for leaders. Building on the previous session and drawing on the latest decision science, we shall explore how we can make better informed and more effective decisions for teams and organisations.

Session 4: Decision Making Techniques

This session is not just about being heard, but about making sure we select what we want people to hear, this is about smarter communication!

Session 6: Negotiating
